The question makes sense, but it becomes incomplete when you forget the time factor. A company that postpones a solar project extends a cost model that is heavier than it could be, delays operational savings and remains more dependent on external factors. When there is significant daytime consumption, the impact of postponement tends to be even greater, because that is exactly where self consumption usually fits best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For families, the logic is similar. Anyone living in a house with good solar exposure and consistent consumption may be postponing future savings without gaining much from it. The first impact is felt on the bill. The second is felt in autonomy. The third is felt in the accumulated delay of the return. A house with its own production starts reducing the energy bought from the grid during daylight hours. When the system does not yet exist, the house buys everything and buys every day. For companies, the tax component may also be relevant, but it requires caution. A photovoltaic system can generate accounting and tax effects over time, provided it is correctly framed. This means that the moment when the investment is made also matters. Even so, it is worth being very clear: the tax component may improve the numbers, but it should not be the only reason to move forward. Solar must make sense on its own technical and financial merit. Of course, there are situations in which waiting makes sense. If the roof is going to undergo work soon, if the company is going to move premises or if there is still not enough reliable data to size the solution properly, postponement may be sensible.
